The 4th International Conference

BUSINESS SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT - UPS 2009

BACKGROUND

UPS - International Conference on Business Systems Management was established in 1997. The establishment was encouraged by the Bureau for Production Organization and Management , with the aim to continue 20 year-long tradition of scientific conferences which used to be organized before the war. In order to achieve that the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of University of Mostar and DAAAM International Vienna organized the 1st International Conference entitled BUSINESS SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT-UPS 97. Over 60 papers from 10 European countries were presented at the Conference. The second conference was held in 2001 in Mostar, and it was made in cooperation with DAAAM International Vienna and Society of Engineers and Architects of Austria. Over 70 papers from 20 countries from Europe, America and Japan were presented at the Conference.  Beside authors from the country and abroad, a great number of experts from the field of economics and finances took active part in the Conference. In 2003, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering which was established in 1959, completed its process of re-organization into Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Computing, University of Mostar. Conference third was held in 2004 in Mostar. At this conference, presented papers from 20 countries from Europe, America and Japan. On the occasion of its 50th anniversary, the Faculty is organizing the fourth International Scientific Conference – UPS 2009.

GOALS

Beside the continuation of the long-term tradition of organizing scientific Conferences at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Mostar, there are some other goals of  UPS:

· To organize regular international scientific conferences for scientists and experts in the field of economy, where they can present their scientific and expert achievements, exchange experiences and information and make cooperation.
